At Bali Luxe Medical, recovery isn’t just about rest and therapy, it’s about care that goes deeper. Through our in-house chef’s carefully designed post-surgery recovery meals in Bali, every plate becomes a step toward healing. What inspired you to become a chef? When I was younger, I was a fitness enthusiast who ate the same plain diet food for years. Eventually, I realized that staying healthy doesn’t have to mean eating boring meals. That’s when I decided to learn how to cook healthy food that’s full of flavor, it changed everything!

Can you share a little about your journey to becoming a professional chef?
After finishing culinary school in Jakarta, I took a chance and trained at one of the best restaurants in Bali. They invited me to stay on, and I’ve been working there as a professional in a solid role for the past 8 years.
What do you love most about cooking? What I love most about cooking is being able to create meals that nourish both the body and the mind.
What began as a personal search for balance has grown into a meaningful career. From Jakarta to Bali’s culinary scene, the chef’s journey is a reflection of how passion and purpose can meet on every plate.

Food as Medicine

In your experience, how can food help people heal? Food supports healing by giving the body the nutrients it needs—especially protein. It also brings
emotional comfort, connection, and a caring feeling that are really important for recovery.
What ingredients do you consider essential for supporting health and recovery?
For me, supporting health and recovery starts with using fresh, whole ingredients that are naturally rich in nutrients. I focus on lean proteins, colorful vegetables and fruits, and healthy fats, because each one plays a vital role in the body’s healing process. They help reduce inflammation, support tissue repair, and give the body the energy it needs to recover well.
How do you balance health and taste in your dishes? I like to keep meals healthy and tasty by using fresh ingredients, lean proteins, and plenty of herbs and spices. I choose cooking methods like
roasting, grilling, and steaming to maximize flavor while keeping meals light and nutritious.
Here at Bali Luxe Medical, food is more than fuel—it’s medicine. Our chef creates post-surgery recovery meals in Bali that restore energy, reduce inflammation, and uplift the spirit.
Guest Experience
What’s the most rewarding part of seeing guests enjoy your food?
The most rewarding part is seeing guests enjoy food that not only tastes great but also nourishes their bodies. Hearing that my cooking had a positive impact on their healing process was incredibly rewarding and reminded me why I’m passionate about making nutritious food enjoyable.

Do you have a memorable story where a guest mentioned how your food helped them feel better or recover? Yes, I remember one guest who was recovering from surgery and mentioned how much they appreciated the meals I prepared for them. They told me the food not only tasted good but also gave them the energy and comfort they needed during recovery. Knowing that my meals support their recovery makes all the effort totally worth it.
Moments like these are a reminder that healing is emotional as well as physical. When guests feel seen, comforted, and cared for through their meals, that’s when food becomes truly powerful.
Cooking Philosophy
What’s your culinary philosophy when it comes to nourishing food?
My culinary philosophy focuses on creating meals that are both nutritious and flavorful. I prioritize fresh, whole ingredients and use cooking techniques that preserve nutrients while keeping the flavors natural and making sure it’s healthy and enjoyable.
How do you stay inspired and creative in the kitchen?

A lot of my inspiration comes from the people I cook for. Knowing that food can comfort, heal, or bring joy motivates me to keep exploring and trying new things. I also enjoy discovering different cuisines and flavors to keep things fresh and exciting.
Every dish begins with intention. Driven by curiosity and a love for people, our chef’s creative process is rooted in care—proving that food made with heart always finds its way to the soul.
Future Vision

Is there a dish or concept you’re excited to experiment with in the future?
Definitely! Lately I’ve been curious about working more with plant-based proteins and seeing how I can turn simple ingredients into something really flavorful. I think there’s so much room to get creative with it.
