Rave Review: My Exceptional Post-Surgery Experience at Bali Luxe Medical

Thanks to those who left kind comments on my Facebook post. I’m now 2 weeks post op, 360 lipo, plus lipo on the inner thighs, and healing up great. This post is about post-op accommodation and how important it is to pick somewhere clean and well managed, especially if you’re travelling solo. I stayed at Bali Luxe Medical, which was simply perfect. The owner Sherrie is an absolute delight, she went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and felt looked after. I was nervous before surgery and very emotional afterwards and she provided not just accommodation but made sure I felt like I was at home.

Bali Luxe Medical is about ten minutes by car to NuLook Clinic. This closeness turned out to be very important because I deeply underestimated how difficult any movement at all would be after my operation, and I would have struggled to get to my follow up appointment if it wasn’t so close.

I think it’s also important to pick somewhere really nice because if you’re having lipo, you’ll be spending a fair bit of time in the room. For example, rolling off my bed into the bathroom was only possible because Bali Luxe has the perfect beds, nice and firm and high. The villa is spotlessly cleaned, and cleaned daily. I opted out of two of these room cleans because I hadn’t moved much but I was still given clean towels and offered clean sheets. The bathrooms are HUGE which is so important when you’re trying to shower with a nurse helping! The towels are super soft and fluffy which was so nice on my tender body. They also have filters on all the water, so you’re not worried about infection risks from showering.

The rooms are really spacious, heaps of space and cupboard room which I loved because everything was packed away meaning no trip hazards. Rooms have USB power-points, meaning you don’t even need to bring an electronic converter for your phone or other devices, and there was an Australian plug in the bathroom.

The first couple of days I struggled to get out of bed and felt very sorry for myself so my meals were delivered with love and care to my room, first to my bed and then to the very comfortable recliner on a lap tray! All meals were included, and there was morning and afternoon tea and snacks in my room. The food is incredible - there’s clearly a very high focus on nutrition and healthy proteins, but the flavours were amazing! The highlights definitely included the Nasi Goreng, fresh juices and smoothies, and delicious gnocchi. You can even get food delivered, to celebrate leaving the room and sitting by the pool I felt like pizza and of course Sherrie got me the perfect pizza delivered.

The best thing (aside from the food) was the way Sherrie works really closely with Lauren and the nurses from Patient Concierge Services. Each day I knew what time my meals would be, I knew when my nurse would arrive, and I got to opt in to infrared treatments once I was well enough. Sherrie even arranged a manicure and pedicure which was great for my morale!

The pool is amazing, perfect temperature. I swam pre-op, and post-op when I felt well enough I sat on the side of the pool with my feet in which felt lovely. The whole villa is really comfortable, beautifully furnished and also practical. There’s a lovely couch area I had great naps in, with plenty of books and there’s Netflix too.

I could go on and on but my stay was brilliant and I’ll be back, possibly just for Botox and a holiday."
